Hi Jingzhe. Thank you for sharing! You brought up important concepts that relate to learning difficulties, such as confirmation biases and self-justification. I agree gaining and retaining information is only possible by creating connections with the environment around us. For instance, writing a research paper and designing an experiment allows us to make meaning out of our experiences, and I find that doing this helps me learn more effectively. I also find that assignments where we need to reflect on how our life experiences relate to course concepts. I also wanted to add that this would not be possible without neuroplasticity, which is the ability for our brain to change and adapt.

Hi Alecia. I also feel that the constructivist method helps me best learn. I think this is because I am a visual learner, so connecting course concepts with real-life experiences helps me retain the information better. I agree that it helps us understand the information better rather than memorization because we also learn the reasoning behind the concepts. As a psychology student, I have experienced this in many of my courses when it comes to learning about personality or interpersonal relationships because I can reflect on how these concepts relate to my life. Great post!
